The “Kozak Plateau” is a forested area of red pines in the North Aegean region of Turkey.
It is called the “Green Sea” because of the immense green waves made by the trees on a dynamic landscape.
Unfortunately it is fallen prey to goldmines and stone pits - owned by both domestic and foreign companies - on the plateau, thus causing a very special natural, archeological and jeological site to vanish.
